Friends of Coal
The Friends of Coal is dedicated to informing and educating West Virginia citizens about the coal industry and its vital role in the state’s future.
Our goal is to provide a united voice for an industry that has been and remains a critical economic contributor to West Virginia.
The Friends of Coal is a volunteer organization that consists of both West Virginians and residents from beyond our borders. Membership is free and the level of involvement by members is at their own discretion.
West Virginia Hospital Association
The West Virginia Hospital Association (WVHA) is a not-for-profit statewide organization representing 67 hospitals and health systems across the continuum of care. The WVHA supports its members in achieving a strong, healthy West Virginia by providing leadership in healthcare advocacy, education, information and technical assistance, and by being a catalyst for effective change through collaboration, consensus building and a focus on desired outcomes. Members of the Association believe it is essential, in the interest of West Virginia citizens, to have a strong healthcare system that supports and improves the health status of those people served by our hospitals, as well as the economic condition of the state. West Virginia’s hospitals seek to establish and maintain trust among providers, policymakers and the public through actions, sensitivity, professionalism and community-minded commitment to service.
West Virginia Farm Bureau
Farm Bureau is an organization of people like you … productive, conscientious citizens dedicated to improving the quality of their lives and the lives of those who depend on them. We care about feeding our families, the environment, educating our children and speaking out on issues of concern. It is our organization’s goal to provide leadership, education, information, training and economic services to enhance the quality of life of our members.
One Big Family
When you join Farm Bureau, so does your entire immediate family including your spouse and any children, 23 years and under, living at home or in school. Through your county Farm Bureau membership you also become part of the largest state and national agricultural organizations – West Virginia Farm Bureau, representing more than 17,000 member families, and the American Farm Bureau Federation, representing more than 5 million member families.
From the Grassroots
Unlike most organizations, the membership governs Farm Bureau. Through a process called Policy Development, the grassroots membership establishes the direction of the organization. Because our policies aren’t set by a president or board, our members have the opportunity to actively participate in setting the agenda for the organization.

Decisions are made in Charleston and Washington, D.C., that affect your farm, your business and the well-being of your family everyday. As policy is discussed and legislation developed, Farm Bureau is there to monitor, inform and represent you, the member. Farm Bureau’s legislative achievements affect your life…and your pocketbook! The professional staff of the Farm Bureau assists with this process and works with legislative and government leaders at the county, state and national level.
MetroNews – The Voice of West Virginia
MetroNews is West Virginia’s largest “radio station”, comprised of 65 affiliated stations reaching every county in the state. On a daily basis, MetroNews provides news, weather, sports and talk programming, plus offers High School Sports Championships and West Virginia University Sports. As West Virginia’s only statewide network, MetroNews delivers it all!

ZMM was founded in 1959 in Charleston, West Virginia by Ray Zando, Ken Martin, and Monty Milstead.
